Eligible Majors

The courses to be completed within the major are determined by the specific academic department and the Subject Matter Requirements (SMR) set forth by the Massachusetts Department of Secondary and Elementary Education. All TEP licensure candidates must meet with their major department in order to ensure that they are meeting all the requirements set by each department.

Holy Cross offers licensure in the following majors.

Secondary-school (8-12) and/or middle-school (5-8)

Biology, Chemistry, English, History, Mathematics, and Physics

Middle and secondary-school (5-12)

French, Latin, Spanish, and Visual Arts
