Majors should note that internships and courses taught in English will not count towards the fulfillment of the Spanish major. A meaningful degree in Spanish should ideally be enhanced by a study abroad experience. Most majors study abroad during their junior year. We currently have year long programs in Spain (León, Palma de Mallorca and La Coruña) and Peru (Lima). Courses taken abroad in Spanish with a focus on Hispanic topics can be used to satisfy various requirements in the major depending on course content. Students can count up to four courses taken in our study abroad programs to satisfy the major requirements.
