Students who enroll in the prelaw program go beyond learning about law, they "practice" it. Holy Cross has award-winning moot and mock trial teams and a unique student-published law journal, providing graduates with meaningful experience that appeals to the nation's top law schools. Each year, more than 100 Holy Cross graduates enter law schools accredited by the American Bar Association – one of the highest rates in the nation.
There is no predetermined curriculum or courses of study required by law schools. Lawyers come from a wide range of educational backgrounds, and graduates from all majors have gained admission to law school. Holy Cross students are encouraged to choose any major that best suits their interests and talents. Many choose courses that help strengthen their oral and written expression, reading comprehension, and creative and critical thinking.
