Students interested in studying German have a wide range of options available to them. Within the German program students can begin their study of the language or build on their high school courses in more advanced classes. The program also has courses in English for students with little or no background in the German language.
In addition to a major and minor in German literature and culture, the College offers a major in German Studies. An interdisciplinary program offered through the Center for Interdisciplinary and Special Studies, German Studies is designed to help students develop an understanding of the cultural, social and political life of the German-speaking people in their historical and international context through a multi-disciplinary approach.
During their third year, students have the opportunity to study abroad. Students are also encouraged to apply for internships for post-graduate stipends in German-speaking countries.
