Summer Research Program

The Smith Charitable Trust

The Program

Thanks to a generous gift from the May and Stanley Smith Charitable Trust, eligible economics and accounting students have an opportunity to serve as summer research assistants in the Economics Department. The 2012 summer research program will run for 9 weeks, beginning on Monday, May 29th and ending on Friday, July 27, 2012. Students will receive a stipend of $420 per week, a small research budget, funds towards professional conference travel, and campus housing. In addition to working closely with a faculty member on a research project, the research fellows also participated in many educational and social events sponsored by the Economics Department.

The Application Process:

To apply for a position in the 2012 summer research program, please fill out an application. This application is due in the Economics Department Office (Stein 519) no later than Friday, February 17, 2012 at 4 pm.  In the application process, you must also complete the following two forms: Form 1 and Form 2.  To apply for a position in the 2012 summer research program, please return the application to the Economics Department Office by Friday, February 17, 2012.
