Offered jointly by the departments of biology and chemistry, the biochemistry concentration focuses on the chemistry that underlies biological structure and function.

In addition to their major requirements, biochemistry concentrators complete a series of courses from both departments, together with a year-long independent biochemistry research project in their fourth year.

Admission to the concentration is competitive and is available to biology and chemistry majors in the spring semester of their second year.
