Asian Studies

Asia is the home of major philosophical, religious, and artistic traditions that have shaped the values of half the world's population.  The economies of Asian nations and  political events in Asia increasingly affect the entire world.  Holy Cross offers a broad range of opportunities for students to learn about Asia  including course work spanning seven countries and seven departments.

The Asian Studies Program at Holy Cross is a multi-disciplinary program that is administered by faculty with a teaching and research focus on Asia.  Asian Studies offers a major and a minor as well as a variety of extracurricular activities related to Asia. Faculty from a wide range of departments within the College work together to develop courses and activities that create opportunities for students to understand the traditional and contemporary histories, social and political movements, religious foundations and transformations, economic development, philosophical approaches, and artistic productions within Asia, globally and in the diaspora.
